Alissa has lived in the valley since 1997. A service-connected U.S. Army veteran having served in the Military Police with the 855 MP Company on Sunnyslope, Alissa comes to CHM law from a background in both criminal defense and family law, where her clients raved about her aggressive representation. However, Alissa also has formal training in alternative dispute resolution and therapeutic jurisprudence for those clients seeking cooperative, amicable disposition of their cases. Her first criminal trial resulted in a full acquittal; not guilty on all counts. She brings that same tenacity and tireless drive to her work in family law, where she has handled cases in multiple states.
In law school, Alissa served as managing editor for Law Review, participated in the veterans, domestic violence, and intellectual property and entrepreneurship legal clinics, where she represented clients in court under a student license, and was on the Dean’s list each semester.
Alissa holds a Bachelor of Science, summa cum laude, in Justice Administration as well as a Master’s in Special Education from Arizona State University. She maintains an active Arizona Board of Education teaching license.
Outside the office, Alissa enjoys riding her motorcycles, a Yamaha MT-07 and a Harley 1200 forty-eight, weightlifting, CrossFit, and getting out of Phoenix to the cooler temperatures up north. She is a parent of grown twins with special needs on the Autism spectrum, a crazy Husky-Shepherd, and a sweet silver Lab. She and her boyfriend of two years plan on starting their collection of trail badges in their Jeep this summer. Alissa also enjoys teaching evening courses at Grand Canyon University, where she has been an adjunct professor in government and justice studies since the Spring semester of 2021.
