Ara is a family law attorney at Colburn Hintze Maletta and an Arizona native. She earned concurrent degrees in Anthropology and Spanish from Arizona State University, where she developed a deep understanding of people, cultures, and communication – tools she now uses to guide families through complex legal transitions with clarity and care. In college, she studied in Spain to further refine her Spanish-speaking abilities, driven by a commitment to make sure language is never a barrier to quality legal support.

The daughter of an immigrant, Ara brings compassion and cultural awareness to every case. She earned her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago, fulfilling her lifelong dream of becoming an attorney. Her clients describe her as approachable, focused, and deeply invested in their well-being – someone who listens with empathy and acts with precision.

Outside the courtroom, Ara is a nationally ranked Olympic-style Taekwondo fighter and second-degree black belt with 17 years of experience. She has competed across the country and internationally, once ranking in the top five in the nation. The discipline, resilience, and strategic thinking she’s developed through martial arts show up in every aspect of her legal practice

When she’s not advocating for clients or training for her next competition, Ara enjoys baking — a hobby that reflects her attention to detail and love of bringing comfort to others.
