Kiara Chamberland’s career in the legal field began as a Bailiff in the Maricopa County Superior Court, Criminal Division. Kiara started fresh out of college, excited to be a part of the judicial system. As the victim of an unsolved crime herself, she wanted to witness justice for others.

However, that is not what she found. Instead, Kiara found people experiencing the throws of addiction being imprisoned for years, with no offers of treatment. She found people with complex histories given harsh sentences. She heard countless life stories that impact her to this day and decided she could no longer be an impartial member of the Court.

She went on to work at the Public Defender’s Office and decided to further her education and obtained a Paralegal Certificate from Phoenix College. Shortly after, she became a Certified Paralegal through the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA). She enjoyed working for the Public Defender, but often grew frustrated with the limitations on time she could dedicate to clients due to the nature of the caseload.

In August of 2022, Kiara was fortunately introduced to Darin Colburn, Timothy Hintze, and David Maletta, and began working for CHM Law shortly after. Kiara now assists mainly in handling Criminal, Dependency, and Order of Protection cases.

When not at work, Kiara enjoys spending time with her fiancé, Nico, and dog, Penny. She loves escaping for a weekend to camp and four-wheel on Arizona’s gorgeous trails. Kiara also enjoys gaming, both the tabletop and video variety.
