Client approached Colburn Hintze Maletta (CHM Law) regarding a property dispute related to the Parties’ divorce decree entered almost a decade prior. Upon discovering that the Opposing Party owed Client more than six figures in past due (i.e., unpaid) child support and spousal maintenance, CHM Law correctly deduced that the pending property dispute could be leveraged in Client’s favor to secure substantial payment from the Opposing Party toward the arrearages.
By developing and employing an intentional and finely tuned negotiation strategy, CHM Law ultimately secured a significant lump sum payment from the Opposing Party that was objectively greater than the Client would have recovered in Court through litigation. This lump sum payment was life-changing for the Client and helped right over almost a decade of non-payment.
